Vark Test

From taking this test i realized that im a visual and kinisthetic learner. I have to read the material before and after the class so that i can be prepared for the lecture and not have to take too many notes because i feel that taking notes while the lecturer is speaking confuses me and thats when i tend to get the information wrong. I learn the best by seeing what the lecturer is saying and doing and then visualizing it in my head. I dont really write notes during the lecture because in essense you cant write everything that you hear and actually get it all right. i like to write down the important concepts and add anything that is emphasized by the lecturer about the concept.

Vark learning style no surprise there

I was not surprise to discover that I am a very visual type of learner, pictures are a very effective way to learn due to the fact that most people have a tendency to associate image with something that they learned in the past. For instance, once I start to read, I always try to create a mental picture of what i am reading because it helps me better understand the story but most importantly it helps me remember the story. There is no doubt that visual learning is a powerful tool especially when it comes to literature, where you have a dialogue of multiple characters, and also you have some expressions that are outlined in the dialogue that only with mental picture you can accurately grasp. This is definitely a winner as far as our class is concerned because with visual the class will understand and remember the stories and plays that we will read during the course of the semester. I knew i was a visual learner but the vark exam reinforced that theory.

Vark Test

Based on the Vark Test I am a kinesthetic learner as well as a visual learner. I have to agree I find that a lot of times I learn something best by doing it rather than seeing it because at times I forget what I saw. However, when I read I find it best to visualize what I am reading because it helps me remember and understand more what I'am reading.

I fairly agree...

Even though my results of 6 B's show that I am a Visual learner, I believe that I am a combination of an auditory and visual learner. I can usually grasp what is being taught during a lecture, but I prefer not to. However, I couldn't help but to smile as I read the description that visual learner's tend to wander and doodle during lectures. I do wander at times, but I think any normal student would. I am a very good speller, organizer and my hand writing is great. I guess the test is accurate after all. Being a visual learner will contribute to the class when it comes to the group project. I will enjoy interacting with others and putting together a fun experiment.

Very interesting Vark exam

Wow, it was very refreshing for me, to take the Vark exam and realise I am mostly a visual learner. I love order, the big picture and concepts, and am detail-oriented as well. After Dana read the play "Pretentious ladies", I appreciated that she showed us a typical love letter from the 12th? century. Very cute and lively. I would love to see a movie on one of the plays/stories we read, just to have a lovely visual presentation of what we are studying.
I think it is very healthy for all of us class-mates to have different learning styles because this way we can all help one another in learning the art of literature. Us visual learners are affective and sensitive, and relate learning to our emotions. Therefore we would love to share whole-heartedly, our knowledge with others, via our presentation groups or class discussions.
It is a great class and I look forward to more readings!

I Completely Agree !!!

Based on the three modalities , the Vark Exam described me as a visual learner .
I was surprised to find out that there are several types of learning, namely, auditory, visual and kinesthetic. I had always thought that the norm of class instruction was primarily through lecture and that, by listening and focusing, I would do well in class. This required me to conform to an auditory mode that involved an amount of effort that I had difficulty adapting to.
The struggle I experienced focusing in class had to do with my predisposition to visual learning. I, for one, do not fit the description of a “traditional” student since memorizing is one of my weak points. I had always excelled in subjects that involved a lot of theories , formulas , and visual graphics.
I believe that my method of learning will help most during class presentations and assignments . As a visual learner, I tend to use object lessons as one of the techniques to deliver a message. I would also help contribute to the class by looking at the big picture. I strongly believe that having classmates with different learning skills will help us view topics from various points of view which in turn will allow us to have lively discussions .
